LAYER IT UP

Hi, There!

This photo of my project was a piece of cardboard that I used for some mixed media play time.  But it also has a purpose and that is to be mounted on a piece of wood (my husband has that project).  Then it becomes a decorative cover over a fireplace vent when the fireplace is not in use.  The draft coming from those vents can be bone chilling when you sit in front of them.  I made another one for the other side but did not photo it yet.  Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a blessed week, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

Mixed media used:
The background was covered in Gesso and then I applied Tim Holtz tissue paper and lightly applied more gesso.

I used a diamond stencil from my stash with modeling paste. A text sentiment stamp was also added to the background with Versa Mark Black ink.

I then applied different colors of Lindy's Star Brust spray paints until I was happy with the runoff.  These paints have such a beautiful shimmer which is not caught in the photo.

Painted a new Ivy chipboard with Silk acrylic paints and glued to the board and applied some glitter.  Splattered some more paints on the background.

Butterflies were fussy cut from my stash and applied with gel medium.  Distress ink around the board edges.  New Tim Holtz labels were also applied with gel medium.  Big Brush Indian ink was used to shade around everything.

I forgot,  I used masking tape that was crumbled up for texture too.  Just had so much fun.  The saying in the center of the board reads - Our Happy Family.  The seven butterflies represent our family of seven living here together.  Here is a close up of that part of the board.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A SPECIAL SOMEONE

Hi, There!

We have a couple of birthdays in January so here is one of the cards I made using a new stamp set - Inky Antics clear stamp set/Guided Path.  So the one sentiment is from that stamp set.  The HB was from a stamp set that was a freebie called Sincere Sentiments received with my monthly UK Cardmaking & Papercrafting magazine. I used my new MFT cloud stencil - that was so much fun!!

The image was stamped onto watercolor paper and used Zig watercolor brushes to paint.  The clouds were done with Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass.  Love the effect this stencil gives and will have to try to use it more.  Thanks for stopping by, until next post, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

FEELING BEARY SICK!!

Hi, There!

There seems to be a lot of sickness going around where I live but I also know my sister is not feeling well so I wanted to make a get well card for her.  She lives in Florida and it has been so cold there!!!

I forgot I had this adorable image from Mo Mannings' Digital Pencil.  It is funny how things go in cycles.  I have gone back - big time - to using my stamps and have now forgotten about my digital files.

So I will have to go thru some of my images to see just what I have!!!  Oh, to live to be at least 100 to get thru all my stash supplies.

My resolution is not to buy anything new until I have used some of what I have staring me in the face!!!!  LOL  Lets see how that goes:)

Without further ado, here is my card, thanks for stopping by and I hope you stay well, warm and cozy in your furry slippers - if you have any!  I do - red ones!!!!  Hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

WASHI TAPE HEART

Hi, There!

I spotted this idea on Pinterest and thought let's give it a try.  Used a heart die for my top cardstock and stamped my sentiment from Penny Black.  I think this Scripture is so appropriate for Valentine's Day!

Since this die makes a stitched outline around the heart, I fussy cut that part out from my second heart die cut and glued it to the front of the first heart cut out on the front of my card.  On a 5 x 7 white card base, I applied my washi tape, making sure it was in the right position for the heart cut out on the top cardstock which was applied to the base.  I added glitter all around the cutout on front.  I am happy with this and I think I will try another one!!  Thanks for stopping by, until my next post, hugs, and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

SENDING LOVE

Guess that is what will be going on for awhile at most blogs.  Getting those Valentine Cards done!  I wanted to challenge myself by making a card with no stamping, no coloring - now that does make me sad but I am sure I will be coloring up a storm after I get this creative spell out of my system!! LOL

I found this die set at Amazon and the price point was excellent for all 25 pieces and it does a beautiful job.  I would have paid $15 for one set of these dies anywhere else and I received all three sets, circles, squares and hearts for that one price.  They cut beautifully as you can see on this card.  I did not have any of these stitch dies so I was so happy with this order!!!  Thanks for stopping by, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

Card Recipe
Papers from my stash
Used my new die cut hearts and edged with distress ink
sequins - butterflies, stars, mirrors, white heart - Little Things/Butterfly Garden
Pink heart and regular sequins - 28 Lilace Lane and sparkle thread from stash

HELLO THERE!

Are you an animal lover?  I love all animals but cats hold a special place in my heart.  So this image from East Wind was so much fun to color.  I just love the way the kitten is looking at her - kind of like the way my kittie, Sam, looks at me!!!  ( Scroll down to see photos of my Sam) They can make you feel so loved!!  Also, I like the little girl's jacket and her warm hat and mittens.  Since it was 0 degrees and windchill below 10 - I want her attire!!!  LOL

Stay warm, my blogging friends wherever you may be, with hugs and blessings until next time ~ CaroleAnn

HAPPY NEW YEAR GREETINGS WITH LOVE

Hi, There!

First card for 2018!!  This is a Stamping Bella image called Lulu Loves Poppies but I am not sure if it is still available as this is an older image.  I just had to color her up as I was craving something with flowers!!!

More snow coming our way and it was 7 degrees this morning!!!  BRRRRRR!

I have a new die from Precious Marieke/Rustic Nesting Frames and thought it framed Lulu nicely.  I used Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink around the edges and cut a few more contrasting dies to use behind the image.  The image is popped up with foam tape.

Using the papers from Tim Holtz Idea-ology, I formed the card base and I cut apart some postcards to make letters on the side.  Used a heart die from Verve for the surrounding hearts.

The button sentiment is a chipboard from BoBunny that I received as a freebie from Scrapbook.com.  The ribbon is from my stash and I tried to make a wax seal at the bottom - not sure if that is what I succeeded in displaying;)  You know - sealed with a kiss - not that it is lips but just a seal!!! lol

I would like to think that Miss Lulu just received a bunch of Poppies with her love letters;)

Thanks for stopping by and sending you much love, hugs, and blessings for the new year ~ CaroleAnn
