NO TIME LIKE SNOW TIME!!

Hi, There!

We are getting ready for a snow storm coming our way starting on Friday thru Saturday!!  So tomorrow I go out like all the other crazies for the "milk and bread and batteries and water" LOL

I was inspired by my friend Tracy's card that she made with a snowman called Jolly!  So cute!
Snowflakes!  Snowmen! I just recently received these from Purple Onion Designs. So glad I had the time to use them now and not next year!

I have an idea for one more card for Christmas - if time will permit!  But I want to get started on my baking - my grandkids love jam tarts.  I make raspberry, strawberry and lemon tarts!!!  Of course, I sample along the way:) Yum!

Thanks so much for stopping by - and just in case I am not back, happy & merry everything to everyone - whatever you may be celebrating, Happy Hanukkah, Merry & Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with wonderful blessings for you and yours! Hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

COOKIES & MILK FOR SANTA - Christmas Card #12

Hi, There!

It is funny how the trending world goes around!  I had ignored my rubber stamps for a few years once I climbed on board with the digital stamp craze!  But now I find myself wanting to use my stamps more and more.  Now I love all my stamps both digital and rubber and clear!

I hope to live long enough to use everyone I have - since I am up there in age and I have a hoard that would do any crafter proud - I am guessing well past 100 years young and hopefully with very good eye sight!!!  LOL

Well, here is my "Dear Santa" letter.  And no I am not asking for any new stamps.  But I am asking for a Bible that will allow me to do some creative art journaling while I study The Word!

On Purple Onion Designs, I saw Simone Schwagler's example of how she used these stamps to create her card and fell in love with what she created!!  So my inspiration is from her card here.

Both rubber stamps are from Purple Onion Designs - "Dear Santa" and "Holly Mouse" colored with Copic markers.  Sentiment is mounted on foam for 3D effect.  Paper, cording, sequin "Merry Christmas" all from my stash.  Till next time, stay warm, good luck with your Santa letters;) - Hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

CHRISTMAS CARDS #8 & #9

Hi, There!

Very cold here tonight!!  Good day to stay inside and make a card or two - two is what I have made and another in the works to post tomorrow.  Getting to the end soon as I have a box of cards - yes - not store bought but from a charity donation so I will not finish up with all my card making and will use what I have and hope for better use of my retirement time next year;)  With the help of my daughter and grandkids, I did manage to get the tree up (it is little with lights) and some decorations around the living room.  Hope you are on schedule with whatever you plan for your holidays.  Till next time, Hugs and Blessings ~ CaroleAnn

Sentiment is from ODBD.  Leaf sticking out from the photo is part of my Christmas Cactus - photo to follow - this is where she would live - inside the colorful mushroom in my planter!  LOL
Card #9 - Just a quickie as I found this pre-stamped image I made in my stash and just put it together with some freebies of ribbon and papers I received from Verve Stamp company - thank you!

CHRISTMAS CARD #7

Hi, There!

Just one more card for tonight.  Have so many more to make but having fun with it all!  So many amazing digital and rubber stamps to choose from, I can never make up my mind what to work on next!!  Oh, what a dilemma to have, right?!  LOL  Hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

Digital Stamp from A Day For Daisies - A Sign I Give
Little to no coloring here.  Copic marker to outline.  Star dust for the star and a touch of Wink of Stella around The Baby.  Embossed one of the background cards with holograph embossing powder which doesn't show up in this photo but looks nice in person;)  Ribbon and two rhinestones and done!

CHRISTMAS CARDS #5 and #6

Hi, There!

Just a fast post as I am trying to get a good stack of these cards as fast as I can and hopefully in the mail before Christmas - LOL!!  Well, sometimes it is nice to receive a card after the fact.  I actually enjoy getting cards after the holidays and sitting when it is all calm and looking over all the cards!  I received this as a freebie from Artist Mitz Sato-Wiuff at Aurora Wings.  And I love it so much, I had to color it twice - one in traditional holiday colors and the other in blue!  Sorry, I forgot to write down the Copic Markers used!  Thanks for stopping by and hope you like my additions.  Till next time, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

WISHING YOU A HAPPY DAY

Hi, There!

I hope you had a happy day after all the turkey eating day - if you celebrate Turkey Day;)  I was just happy to have a day that I did not have to cook anything since it is all about the leftovers for me!!

Just wish this country could realize Thanksgiving is about "family and friends" and stop the craze over the shopping.  My grandson missed his first Thanksgiving Day dinner with us in 18 years since he had to work from 2:30 pm to 1:00 am on Thanksgiving Day!!!

Off my soap box and on to my card.  I love this Stamping Bella rubber stamp image!  So I used it to make this birthday card for my grandson's girlfriend.  Since she likes her coffee I am hoping this is a good match - not to mention her gift is a coffee mug with an imprinted picture of her and my grandson at his Senior prom this past June with the caption - Love Is All You Need!

Have a great weekend and till next time, hope you share a cup of Java or Tea with a special someone! Hugs and Blessings ~ CaroleAnn

THANK YOU

Hi, There  (This card won Top 5 Pick from QKR Stampede - Thank You!)

Just had to make one more card today with the Brusho crystals.  Love watching the different colors blend and create a surprise each and every time - used this on the background.  Leaf stamp from Inkadinkadoo with different color inks.  The text stamp is from my stash so not sure of product name.  A few sequins here and there.

I am thankful for having blogger friends and websites that let me seek more inspiration and share what I create.  Thank you to the Lord for giving me the talents that I have to help me to create and share with you.

So thank you for visiting my little piece of the blogging world, many blessings to you and yours, till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

AUTUMN MOMENTS IN COLOR

Hi, There

I hope you are well today.  I re-discovered my Brusho crystals - btw I have lots of "stuff" that needs to be "re-discovered"!  I used them to make the back ground on this card and over stamped with a stamp from Inkadinkadoo with  different colored inks.  A few sequins here and there and done!

Most of our leaves are gone now so winter is coming.  Had some beautiful sunny weather in the 50's so a little warmer than it should be but I will take it.  So this is to remember the Autumn moments in color!  Till next time, Hugs & Blessings ~ CaroleAnn

I LOVE FALL JOURNAL PAGE

Hi, There!

I hope you are well and keeping warm in your part of the world.  I absolutely love fall.  Has always been my favorite season of the year - candy apples, trees all turning their leaves into beautiful colors of fall, pumpkin spice lattes, and warm, fuzzy sweaters! :)  So only natural for me to crave to do a fall page in my journal.  Until next time, I wish you warm wishes and have a sip or two of your favorite warm cup of Java or Tea!  Hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!

Hi, There!

Well, this has been a long time since my "May" post.  I had a bad time with my arthritis so I was very limited to how much time I could spend at my crafting table.  Hopefully, I can get back into the swing again.  Next big news is that I retired in October so I hope that will give me more time too!!

These are just two of the cards I made for Halloween.  Hoping to work on some fall and Thanksgiving cards.  Perhaps now I will be able to organize my time so I can have these cards done much earlier next year;)

So glad to be back and I have been watching all the beautiful creations you have all been making. Till next time, stay well ~ Hugs and Blessings, CaroleAnn

SUMMERTIME AND THE LIVING IS EASY!!!

Hi, There!
It certainly feels like summer time here as it was almost 90 degrees!!!  Too hot, too soon for me!  I was scrambling around for summer wear for work, looking for a fan for the bedroom and wishing we had the air conditioners in the windows!!!!  LOL  This image just makes me think of the beach and warm summer breezes, and a polka-dot bikini!!!  Nice long weekend ahead so I am happy about that and it doesn't matter what the weather is as I am not in work!!!  Thanks for stopping by, till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

PIRATES & MERMAIDS

Hi, There!

Mermaids - have appeared in folklore of many cultures.  Being legendary aquatic creatures - that have been said to cause shipwrecks, can foretell and/or provoke disasters, I think pirates are in love with them; at least,  I think Captain Jack Sparrow is quite smitten here in my journal!!!!  Without a doubt, they are just fascinating to think about and I just love any mermaid images.  So this digital image from Ching-Chou Kuik called "Flow Followers" is just another one of my faves and a delight to color!!

I just had to make a page for her in my Art Journal book along with Captain Sparrow!!  So much fun to create.  My details are below.

I am entering this into the Facebook Challenge for Ching-Chou Kuik on Mermaids for the month of May!!

Thanks so much for coming by and I hope to see you soon for my next post.  I was hoping I would have time to use this image to make a card - but time just might flow on by before I get a chance;)  Till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

Art Journal Page Recipe:
Digital image colored with copic markers and shaded with pencils
Glossy accents in her eyes and on the sea turtles shells; stardust used for the water bubbles and outline of my page edge.
Background created with gesso, distress paints - Broken Chins and Bundles Sage
Gel Medium to seal it all
Words computer generated, fussy cut and applied with gel medium and shaded edges with same inks
Shading around Captain Sparrow and the Mermaids with Pitt Pens
White gel pen for hi-lights
Stamps in the background all stamped with Archival Black Ink Pad - Star of India ship, heart bubbles and regular bubbles and a kissing fish
Stencil in background from Tim Holtz "coffee splatters" and I used my textured paste on this.
Black Soot edging around the pages and then added the stardust.  I have to have sparkle on my pages somewhere!! :)

A CAT WALK THRU THE FOREST

Hi, There!

I am not in my comfort zone with animals.  I love coloring all those beautiful girlie girls with flowing hair and big eyes!  That is my comfort zone.  But now and then you have to push yourself, so I did and I must say I was pleasantly surprised.  This is a digital image from Ching-Chou Kuik.  Perhaps the reason I am happy with the turn out is because I modeled the image of the cat after my cat Sam! He is a ginger/white cat with a loving personality.  Being an indoor cat - he would love to be this cat "walking on the wild side"!!!  So here is my card and thanks for stopping by, till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

ONE MOMENT IN TIME

Hi, There!

The "moment" I saw this challenge at More Than Words, I just knew what I was going to create.  I played the song One Moment In Time, sung by Whitney Houston and watched the music video for the 1984 Olympics - I always cry with that video and music playing - then it was off to the drawing table and here is my finished mixed media art journal pages for this challenge:
More Than Words Challenge - Use the word "Moment" and the creative challenge of using a clock in your design.   This is their board:

And this is my Art Journal Page:

I wanted the computer generated text to seem to float on my pages.
Clock and Wings were fussy cut and painted with distress inks.
The stamps used are from Graphic 45 - Steampunk - for the Wings;
Finnabair - Never Too Late cling stamps and Script cling stamp from Finnabair
Digital image is from Ching-Chou Kuik  - I love her images.  This one is "Time Flies".
I colored it with Copic Markers.  Glitter added to her clock and glitter added to the wings on the other side of the journal page.  I have to have some glitter on my pages:)
The background pages I started with a collage of cut out pieces from Webster's Pages and gessoed over that before adding all my paint mediums.
Distress Paints - Worn Lipstick, Broken China
Distress Ink Aged Mahogany for edging along with Distress Ink Black Soot
Gelatos added for some brightness
Gesso watered down for splatters
Liquid pearls in the digital image hair and here and there
White gel pen for highlights
Shadowing added with Distress Crayons - Mermaid Lagoon and Rasberry.

ESCAPE FROM REALITY VIA ART JOURNAL PAGES!

Hi, There!

I am so excited to have finished my first Art Journal pages!  I have been pouring over the Art Journal YouTubes and have been so inspired and wanted to give it a try.  I decided to make a journal for myself of the things I like to color so butterflies came first for me!  Next I would love to devote a page or two to fairies!!  Maybe, angels, some flowers,  oh this is going to be addictive!!;)

I have a big thank you going out toVicky Papaioannou!!  A link to her youtube page is here, if you wish to check out her videos on art journaling etc. - so inspirational and I was hooked and fascinated from day one with all she creates.

Now I have to learn what the technique is to take a good picture of your art journal book when it is not a card that stands in a little easel!!  LOL  So I hope you like this - something very different for me and I like the freedom I feel when I am just going with the flow!  Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you get a chance to just play and go with the flow too!  Till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

I wanted to create pages where the butterfly wings would be dimensional - thus adding three in the center of the book fold and when you open it the butterflies just pop out at you!!

Image and text is from Finnabair - "Don't Forget To Fly", my "Escape from Reality" stamp is from my stash. Stencil is from Prima. I used Gelatos on the pages for background, splashes of white gesso, distress crayons for shading of some butterflies.  I drew a border around the pages with a Pitt Black Pen and the butterflies were colored with Brushos, stardust,  and fussy cut.

I would like to enter these art journal pages for the following Mixed Media Challenges:

Oh, yes - plenty of sunshine gets the smiles going around here!  Love the feel of the warm sun on my skin - but not quite like this image shows as it is still too cold here even with the sun;)  This is a center step card that I made for two challenges - One is Anything Goes and the other is for a Mixed Media Card.

I am starting to enjoy the mixed media concept more each time I try it.  It is a little out of my comfort zone but it is fun to be challenged;)   Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have some sunshine coming your way too!!  Till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

BUTTERFLY HAPPINESS - AURORA WINGS STYLE

Hi, There!

I absolutely love butterflies!  What makes me sad sometimes is the fact that I see less and less of them!  So when I find an image with a butterfly or two in it, I want to color.  This image by Artist Mitzi Sato-Wiuff of Aurora Wings is one of my faves and I have colored it more than once.  I kept my card very simple as it is all about the image.  I would like my card to be part of the celebration at Aurora Wings for their 2nd Anniversary.  Happy Anniversary and looking forward to another year of outstanding images to color - thank you Mitzi!!

FOLLOW YOUR BLISS

Hi, There!

I finished this mixed media canvas today and it was a joy to make but to finish it today was good.  Since it has such a feeling of spring to it, I was happy and in my "bliss" as I put the last finishing touches on it because it was snowing outside here!!!  Getting lost in my art work is where I find my bliss.  So here is a photo of my finished canvas and the details of what I did follows.  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit and have a wonderful day.  Till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

I would like to enter this Mixed Media Canvas in the following challenges:
Mixed Media Monthly Challenge - March Challenge #22 - Photo Color Inspiration

More Than Words Challenge with a Twist - March "Bliss" plus Gesso

Details of my canvas:
For the background, I covered the canvas entirely in patterned tissue paper and crinkled it for texture here and there.  Then used Gelatos to color in the background - Banana, Aqua, Watermelon, Blood Orange, Raspberry.  I used a bubble stencil with a baby wipe to remove color here and there.  Applied paper doilies in the opposite corners.  Stamped in black some text and used white gesso for a text stencil. Once the gesso dried, to soften the look, I went over the text with more Gelato colors.

Elements are wooden words and a bicycle coated in black gesso and sprayed with color shine.  White fabric flowers sprayed with color shine.  Added pearls, some Flower Soft in the bicycle basket.  MS Butterfly punch was used on some vellum and colored with Copic markers and applied them here and there and they have touches of Star Dust.

SPRING WISHES

Hi, There!

Weather wise, it has been mild here in upstate New York - saw some robins in New Jersey - so I know Spring is not too far behind. So it was only natural that I wanted to play in some spring-time paper challenges and I found these two challenges to enter my card.  Thanks so much for visiting me today.  Until next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

Card Recipe:
Image is a stamp from Prima/Julie Nutting called Sunshine.  I paper pieced her outfit to match the paper which is from Pebbles called Home Made.  I fussy cut her and the flowers at the bottom of the image were put in by masking and I used a stamp from Stampin Up/Friends Are Like Flowers.  Image has been mounted with foam and is colored with Copic Markers as follows:
Skin  E000 E00 E02 E11
Shoes  Y15 Y38 Y26
  Hair E53 E23 E35
Her dress and sash are from the papers
Background has been watercolored with Distress Inks/ Broken China, Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade.  Added a honeycomb rubber stamp in black ink here and there and used a Color Shine of Gold on the honeycomb images. Has a really nice shine that may not show up in the photo.  Stamped "Spring Wishes" in black ink. Textured Paste with a Tim Holtz Flower Stencil. Shaded the textured flowers with the Distress Inks and outlined some of the flowers in black.  Yellow liquid pearls. Button from my stash with a piece of twine tied into a bow and mounted onto the DP.
