WINTER WONDERLAND - SNOW FUN

Hi, There!

I did not think I would be back but here I am with another quick make card using only die cuts!!  But I am feeling the urge to color getting stronger and stronger.  Just a few more of these quick make cards to do and then I will pick up my markers once again!  Memories of the fun of winter snow sledding both when I was a kid but also with my kids and then the grandkids - always fun!!

I used all die cuts from IO, Boy On Sled, Deer, Birch Tree with birds, Martha Stewart Branch punch which lends itself very nicely to so many fill in needs and I used Fiskars wave on the cut out snow and lots of stardust glitter.  Till next time, happy card making, I think I have almost come to the end for Christmas cards now.  Anything I color now for a Christmas card will go in a pile for next year!  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

I would like to enter this card for the following challenge:
DiesRUs Challenge #15 - Winter Wonderland

WISHING YOU A WORLD FULL OF PEACE AND JOY

Hi, There!

Well, this is what I wish for everyone and hoping you can share your holidays with someone you love.  I have made a number of these cards as I used all pre-colored toppers from Sugar Nellie and it helped to finish up some of my Christmas card needs in a hurry!  Now onto other pending issues to attend to - wrapping gifts and a few last minute tie ups and then hopefully to sit back and say - Wow, I did finish it all!!!  Entering this into the Sugar Nellie Challenge #119 - Anything Goes.  Not sure if I will be back to post but I will be checking out all your beautiful designs as time permits.  Stay safe, warm, give someone a smile, and keep one for yourself inside your heart!!  Big Hugs, CaroleAnn

Card Recipe:
Sugar Nellie Topper inked with distress inks around the edges and lots of glitter and liquid pearls.  Sentiment from Lili of the Valley was stamped onto a circle punch in black and used clear embossing powder and mounted to a MS punch label.  Holiday ribbons and stickers from my stash.

FAIRY DUST

Hi, There!

I love fairies and always happy to color one up.  Well, I did two here because I could not make up my mind which color to use.  One in non-traditional colors of pink and purple and the other in red and green.  Both are center step cards which show off this little fairy! I used Copic markers and, of course,  lots of fairy dust!!  I found these magical creatures at Cuddly Buddly!  Thanks for visiting me today and I wish for you a magical type of day, till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

Hi, There!

I hope you are surviving the feeling of the need to shop etc. !!  Everywhere I go I feel the energy of all the crazed shoppers!!! LOL  For our family and financial means, it is very low keyed and I am so happy we have it that way so I can also enjoy the season for what it really is all about!!  Now we have a very Meowy Christmas going on here because we just adopted a rescue cat that was living in a lumber yard and his name is Sam.  This card is dedicated to Sam (picture of Sam below). Second Post of the Day!!

Hi, There!
Well, if you scroll down you will read I was hoping to finish all my baking and have time to play! And yes,  I found myself with time to color this great image from East Wind and designed this card.  This was a perfect image for today, as it has been snowing all day and I think it is snowing in this scene.  I love the sweetness of this reindeer's face.  I used a Scallop Circle Layered Card Kit from "The Paper Cut" so it shortened my work time.  The red doily, ribbon, snowflakes and ribbon roses and paper flowers all from my stash.  Thanks for stopping by, stay warm, till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

CUDDLY BUDDLY SNOW GIRL

Hi, There!!

I think my grandkids will be building one of these today if the snow comes as heavy as they predict.  Not sure they will be as cute as these snowgirls from Cuddly Buddly by Artist Kim MacFarlane.  I used an embossing folder that I received free with the CardMaking Magazine from the UK!  I love this magazine and I love getting the freebies attached to it!  So many great ideas and samples in this magazine to spark your imagination.  I loved this image so much that I colored her once in blue and once in pink with my Copic Markers and shaded with Spectrum Noir pencils.  I like the white on white effect too!  The embossed card was shaded with blue chalk and was raised with foam dots on top of a white top folded card.  Don't always need all those traditional red and green papers to make a Christmas card!  Where ever you are in blog land, stay safe and enjoy the coming weekend!  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

BABY ITS COLD OUTSIDE!!

Hi, There
I am so glad I made this challenge in time with two hours to spare.   The image is from East Wind called "Waiting For You" and I love the dreamy look in her eyes and of course her hair!!!  Kept it in all pastel pinks and blues and I made it a step card.  Hope you like it.  Used a Spellbinder die - Classic Scalloped Ovals and Memory Box Frosty Border all from DiesRUs!!  The sentiment is a cling stamp from LaLaLand Crafts.

I have the day off tomorrow and we are in for a snow storm;  so I made sure I had all my ingredients to start my baking and I hope to start early, finish early, and maybe get some more crafting in!!  Perfect for a day off from work.  Happy Thanksgiving to my blogger friends in the USA and a warm and cozy evening to all!!  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

WINTER SOFIA

Hi, There!
I guess I have to say winter is here as I dragged out my winter jacket for work this week!!!  BRRRR!  Gloves, hat and scraf and I was toasty warm for my lunch time walk!  Now little Sofia here looks all bundled up too with her bright red and green hat, mittens, and scarf.  I used this image to make a shaker card.  There is acetate in the window pane and I put in some snowflake and micro bead confetti.  Fun to shake the card and see it all roll around.  I used a few die cuts on this one.  My new Snowflake Corner (shaded with blue), also new Beloved Stars die but I put snowflakes where the stars are and I used the large Madison Window to make the shaker part.  This took time to put together but was worth it for the fun of it all!!  Till next time, Stay warm,  Hugs ~  CaroleAnn

SAYING GOOD-BYE

Hi, There!

I just recently found out that a walking partner of mine (every day at lunch time) passed away.  Her name was Hildegard and she was an inspiration to me. Hilde would be walking regardless of the heat of the afternoon or the coldness for that afternoon.  I started making Hilde birthday cards two years ago and this May was her 89th birthday but she never showed for her walk.  So, Hilde, here is your card and I would like to believe that you can see it and I am sure you are enjoying your walks in heaven.  You were my friend, my confidant, and I was blessed to know you and I am so happy our walking paths crossed.  My walks are a little sadder now but I am sure in time I will be smiling and thinking of you during those winter months when you would scold me for not wearing a hat!!  Happy Birthday and saying good-bye to my walking partner.  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

PANSY GIRL

UPDATE:  This card won the Artist's Choice Award at Aurora Wings!!  Thanks Mitzi!! I am so honored to be in that group of chosen artwork by you!!

Hi, There!

I love Pansies!  Actually all flowers and these were a challenge to color but I found some great paper for inspiration and had so much fun!  The paper is from DCWV Four Seasons Stack.  It was difficult to cut the paper apart but had to be done for the card.  The image from Aurora Wings is called Pansy and I have had this image for a long time.  Sometimes I need to keep looking at a digital image and "digest" it before I can color it.  So I think I digested enough! LOL  I colored her up with Copic markers and shaded with a black Spectrum Noir pencil.  Then fussy cut and used foam dots to raise the image.  Stardust used and liquid pearls here and there.   Shaded the paper frame with chalk.  Used a Martha Stewart border edge.  Some little paper butterflies here and there.  Glossy accent on her eyes and a piece of sparkle tulle behind the image to soften it up.  Thanks for stopping by and till next time, enjoy your weekend!  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIRMAIL STYLE

Hi, There!

I like these cute digital bears from Cuddly Buddly - they are just happy little bears and this one is on his way to wish someone special that I know a Happy Birthday!  I used Copic Markers to color and Spectrum Noir pencils for shading.  A Spellbinders' Scalloped Oval die cut to frame the image.   An embossing folder for the background frame and some star dust and liquid pearl here and there.  Added some butterflies since the charm reads, "Butterfly Kisses"!   Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my post, till next time, Hugs, ~ CaroleAnn

Card Info:  Image was colored with Spectrum Noir Inks, papers are from My Mind's Eye/Home
Used some Glossy Accents for her eyes and stardust on the window pane and letters and rain.  A heart clip in the corner, some buttons, and two layers of cream lace - weblike and flowers.

CANDY FOR MY PRETTY

UP DATE!!  This card won for QKR Challenge #109!!!  And made Designer of the Day on 613 Avenue Create's Facebook page!!

Hi, There!
I absolutely love this digital image from QKR called Witch!  I had fun with this one as I popped out the hands with foam dots for a 3D effect.  I can just hear her cackle of "Want Some Candy, My Pretty?" - I computer generated that sentiment and used black frames for both the witch and the text.  Die Cuts used are Impression Obsession - Frames #219 and a Tree Die #242 that I cut apart and used behind the frame. The papers are from Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells and the candy stickers are from Jolee's.  Ribbon and button from my stash. Not sure I would take any of her candy but I will be raiding my grandkids' candy bags for some goodies - no shame when it comes to searching for those Butterfinger bars!!!  Till next time, my pretties - Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

I hope my post finds you enjoying your evening.  Rainy and very humid here for the month of October.  Lots of leaves are falling down with all the wind and rain tonight!  So I guess a lot of us will be "leaf dancing" after this weather is done!  This pair seem to be enjoying it and it was fun coloring them up.  I used my copic markers (sorry never recorded the colors) and all papers and stickers are from my halloween stash.  Love when I get to use up bits and pieces of my designer papers!  This image is from Cuddly Buddly by Artist Kim MacFarlane called Shall We Dance.

WINDY WEATHER TO COME

Hi, There!

Well, it is good to be back and the fall colors are just getting started here in upstate New York!  It was a little too warm for me down in Florida!  I just love this time of season here in New York.

So I guess we will be getting ready for some windy weather for the next few days and here is a cute little miss enjoying her walk with teddy.  I look forward to these kind of walks myself soon minus a teddy;)  I'll settle for a hubby! LOL

I was inspired to color this image with bright colors due to some beautiful flowers my sister received while I was visiting her - there were bright fuchsias, limes, pinks, and yellow flowers in the vase!!
Until next time, I hope you are having a good week full of bright colors to marvel at;)  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

Hi, There!

I could not wait to color this mermaid from Aurora Wings called Mermaid Tying A Ribbon.  She is just so beautiful and so much fun to color - lots of glitter and white pearl used on her.  I used both Copic and Spectrum Markers and my Spectrum pencils for shading.  Added Glossy Accent for her eyes and the surrounding bubbles.   Sticker fish and shells I found in my stash.  The Mermaid inside the card has been raised with foam dots.

I could not bring myself to totally destroy the background paper so I used it on inside of the card both top and bottom so as to keep the whole background image of the under the sea mermaid!  This paper is from DCWV/Once Upon A Time.  The song from Disney's Under The Sea played in my head the whole time creating this card!  Thanks for coming by to visit - hope you have a great week, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

POPPIES AND A FAIRY PRINCESS

Hi, There!
Well, I am having problems with my flash drive and I just uploaded a bunch of new digitals too that I bought last week!!  Oh, well, maybe our computer store in town can help get some of my work back.  I had backed up all my work from this flash drive about 3 months ago but as you know in three months time I managed to add quite a bit of work:( Not backed up)

I got around to making two cards today so here they are - thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

A Day For Daisies digital image - Poppies - colored with Spectrum Noir blendable pencils and the papers are from Glitz/Happy Travels, corner bow die from Memory Box and I used two butterfly punches from Martha Stewart.  Of course, glitter and rhinestones have been added!

Whispy digital image from line art work by Krista Smith/Saturated Canary - colored with Spectrum pencils and she has been framed with a Spellbinder die cut, rhinestones from Flourish with a Bling, rose is from Recollections and all papers and sentiment are from DCWV/Once Upon A Time

MOVIE TIME

Hi, There!

It's been some time that I have managed to get anything made but this card was so much fun and worth the wait for me to tackle!  The image is from Saturated Canary called Usherette.  She is just so adorable and I colored her up with Copic Markers.  I used a Designer Paper Packet that I bought over a year ago and just getting around to it.  It had all sorts of papers and stickers all with a movie theme so it was a perfect match for this little usherette!  The popcorn holder can be used to put a gift card inside!  I tried my hand at a twist easel card and not sure if you can see it in my photos to follow.  Thanks for visiting, happy movie watching and of course, lots of buttered popcorn!! Yum!!  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

RECYCLED EARRINGS!

Hi, There!

We should recycle whenever we can so I was happy to say that I found the perfect spot for these recycled earrings.  I painted them here and there with the blue to match the colors in the card.   Then I was wishing I still had them to wear in that color!  LOL  The digital image is from Sugar Nellie called Sophia - what a dream to color and I added some gloss to her eyes.  I had to make my own card for the background as I got carried away with the size of the DP and realized too late I did not have the right card size to mount it!  But there are no mistakes in art!!  So I went forward with a larger size card then usual and liked the results!  Fussy cut the tag label that I stamped the sentiment on.  Used a MS border punch at bottom of card, all papers are from Kaiser Craft/Madame Boutique.  Rhinestones from Recollections, Doily and heart from stash.  Used some stickles on the sides of the card base.  Till next time, thanks for visiting with me, recycle when we can! Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

PS  Sissy, do you recognize your earring??  LOL

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY CARD

Hi, There!

I love surprises and a friend called me out of the blue and said lets go to lunch.  He use to be one of my bosses in work and I miss him.  He was very nice to me and we became friendly over the years.  So I met him and his wife at a country club in New Jersey and they treated me to an awesome lunch and even had a 4th of July plant for be as a surprise little gift.  So thoughtful.  It absolutely made my day!!  So once I got home from work, I knew exactly what I wanted to create for them as a thank you card and here it is!  So thank you Bob and Julie - if you read my blog - not sure!!  Hope everyone is safe for this US holiday and enjoy some good times with good friends - good for the soul!!  Big Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

DANDELION FUN

Hi, There!

You all know how I feel about "Fairyland" so this adorable Sprite called Dandelion is just what I wanted to color.  It was a generous freebie from Mitzi at AuroraWings - so thanks again!!  Their challenge is "no lines or color bingo - so chicken that I am I went for the Color Bingo.  Not too good with the my Mac in trying to alter images so I wasn't sure if I could do the no lines.  So here she is and the image reminds me of being a little girl in the park with my sister and gathering all the dandelions we could and blowing away!!  Nice to be brought back to our childhood as it is so good for our souls;)

Till next time, thanks so much for visiting, have a wonderful week filled with some kind of childhood fun!:)  ~ CaroleAnn

SWEET BALLERINA

Hi, There!

I love Wednesday!!  I can now get thru Thursday knowing it will be Friday soon!! LOL  Okay, on with my card - I love this image from Sugar Nellie at FunkyKits!  I colored this some time ago, so I do not have the colors listed but I did use Copic and Spectrum markers on this image. This was really fun to color.  I also used a silver gel pen.  Used Glossy Accents for her eyes which was my favorite part in creating this card.  Which by the way, is my first step card!  Finally, figured out how to score and cut it but I still need some practice.  Used lots of stuff from my stash - die cut corners that I found in that stash along with some rhinestones.  The sentiment is from Lily of the Valley stamps.  Paper is from my stash too.   Thanks for visiting and have a great remainder of this week!  Till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

HAPPINESS

Hi, There!

Hope my little blog finds you well.  Had some gorgeous weather here on the East Coast of USA. Since we did not have a tournament to travel to, we enjoyed some family time!   Felt good to be just home!  So I managed to get one card done and I am on a Sugar Nellie high!  I have a few more to color up before this day is out and my "happiness" is being home from work and able to work in my art room with my pens and pencils!  So here is Alicia from Simply Adorable Stamps.  I wish you some happiness for today in whatever gives you pleasure! Thanks for visiting, till next time - which may be awhile as we are back on the road again for next round of tournaments this weekend!

SUMMER READING

Hi, There!

Do you like to read?  I wish I had more time to read because I love books.  I can spend my whole lunch hour just walking up and down the aisles of the library just trying to decide which book to choose.  I always end up with more than one - at least four - and sometimes start reading two - but, yes, my characters get mixed up in my head! LOL  Okay, enough, "blah, blah" onto the card.  I made it for the library that I spend so much time in not far from work.  I used my new Spectrum Noir blendable pencils and I got the Gamsol and used that for blending and it works like a dream!!!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find time for a book that will take you away to some far away place and time;)  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

TAKE TWO - A LITTLE BIRDIE TOLD ME

Hi, There
I just had to try my hand at my new Spectrum Noir markers on the same great image.  I found a new love (still in love with my Copics too) but nothing wrong with two loves;)  I love their color scheme and their Spectrum Noir blending colored pencils match to perfection.  So I used some pencils to add shading and dimension.  Love my new toys!!  Thanks for visiting.  No time here to make a card - between working and then traveling on the weekends for basketball tournaments!  We were in Springfield,  MA last weekend and now we go to Albany, NY for the Gym Rats blowout!!  Go Rockland Rockets (my grandson's team ;)  Till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

A LITTLE BIRDIE TOLD ME

Hi, There!

A real short work week for me  as I had a few days off!  I managed to get a little creative juices flowing over the long weekend.  My hubby bought two sets of colored pencils (well, the truth be known - I bought them and told him this was my Mother's Day gift from him )  Love those kinds of gifts - don't you?  LOL

I wanted to try them out and found out real quickly that although they are as bright and bold as they say they are, they will never replace my Copic Markers.  But still not too shabby for the first attempt at the shading and I had to change my paper to something with more fiber to it.  I had trouble blending on the paper I use for the markers.  I would imagine the craft paper will work well too - when I find more time;)  The digital image is called A Little Birdie by Mo Manning.  Spectrum Noir Blendable pencils both primary and essential sets used.

Till next time, take care and thanks for visiting, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn
