LESS IS MORE CARD

Hi, There!
I hope you had a good week - so happy tomorrow is Friday!!!  Okay, I will admit it - I struggled with this but forged on and for whatever reason the photo did not do the card any further justice.  Yes, I am not totally pleased but I am trying to work on the less is more concept for my cards - now why would it seem easier to grab all that girly stuff and glue till my heart is content and when I want to keep it simple - it becomes a big challenge for me!  So I am going to keep at it until it does not feel so out of my comfort zone!  Wow, that was a long sentence! LOL - but thanks for peeking and I actually made more of these with different colored butterflies and sentiments for my "need a card quick box" so I am starting to get the hang of it!  Not so bad after all :)  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

I would like to enter this card for the Less Is More Challenge Sketch #8 Week 104 - You have to follow their sketch.  Check out their blog site as they have some great cards for lots of inspiration!

Card Recipe
DP from K&C Abrianna and stickers from same product
Sentiment stamp is a Verve product
Not sure why the card looks curved at the top - sorry about that

BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE - MOVIE INSPIRATION

Hi, There  This is my second post for Sunday so scroll down to see the first one of the day!

Well this was a most interesting challenge at Saturated Canary!  Make a card with a movie inspiration and I chose Butterflies Are Free - now I hope the image I picked resembles Goldie Hawn a little - I think ;)  and the actor in this movie was Edward Albert.  It was set in th '70's so lots of flower power going on for this.  Also, I used the sketch challenge from CLP which I loved so needless to say I had so much fun doing these challenges!  Here she is!!  Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

colored with Copic markers and used stardust and liquid pearls here and there, the paper is from BoBunny/ Vicki B and so are the stickers I used.  This paper was great for this type of card.  I used die cuts for the corners and for the butterflies outside and inside.  Lots of fun!!

Sugar Nellie Joy/Thinking of You Card

Hi, There!
And Happy Saturday to you!  Well, it happened I just had to stop to color and make a card which is a little more embellished than I have been making.  I held back my hands for adding any flowers as I think the image itself is the main focus and she is just so cute - her name is Joy and it is a digi image from Sugar Nellie.  I would like to enter this card in the following two challenges:

Sugar Nellie Challenge #99 - Anything Goes
CAS - Colours and Sketches #8 - Follow the colour scheme - which is one of my faves :)

Card Recipe:
Copic markers, stardust and white liquid pearls around the image; I distressed some of the papers used from Lost N Found - Breeze and I also used Blush, Butterfly punch and circle punch from MS; a corner punch; and Verve text stamp for thinking of you   Pearls added here and there from my stash and ribbon to the left of the card also from stash.

HELLO FRIEND CARD

Hi There!

Okay, I got one more CAS card done.  Not sure how many more will be forth coming as I am struggling with these!  I feel the urge to embellish coming on quite quickly NOT to mention the need to color something with big hair and eyes!!! :)  Lots of hugs coming your way - thanks for peeking ~ CaroleAnn

I lined this topper card from FlowerSoft with blue card stock to make this card; chalked around the edges with blue chalk; used white liquid pearl on the butterflies; label is from Spellbinders and stamped with a Verve text; ribbon is from my stash; and I added a velcro sticker underneath the popup to help keep the card closed and this is what it looks like when open:

Lined the inside with same blue card stock and used a MS butterfly punch and added some pearls from my stash.

BACK TO BASICS

Well, Hi There!!
It took me long enough to get back:)  I have decided to concentrate on some back to basic type cards for awhile.  I am sure my need to reach for my embellishments will over come me at some point.  But for now I am trying to use some simple cards with simple designs.  Let me say, this is harder for me than my embellished cards.  I was hoping to crank them out fast because they are simple but that is not the case.
I need some simple "thinking of you" cards - my card box is depleted!!
I have to get back to checking up on everyone too!  Hope you have been more creative than I have been.  I lost a little of my mojo I think!!  Thanks so much for stopping by - big hugs to you ~ CaroleAnn

Here is my card:
The topper I used came from Flowersoft and I lined some orange paper behind the popup flowers.  Used some orange twine on top and the stamp "Hello" is from my stash.
Side view - you can see the popup flowers a little better. And I added some rhinestones for the center of the flowers.

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND A YEAR IN REVIEW

Hi, There
I thought I would look back on some of my favorite cards for the year of 2012 as we say goodbye and hello to a new beginning. They are in no particular order - just some of my favorites.

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you that has visited my blog, left comments or not, just knowing you are there has been all the encouragement I needed to jump into this world of blogging.

I look so forward to seeing what you all create for 2013!  I wish you all a Happy, Healthy and Blessed New Year!
Create with love and keep a smile in your heart
Hugs always ~ CaroleAnn

Thank you for looking and I hope you enjoyed the walk down memory lane as much as I did.  This last card was my very favorite card that I made for my Mom while she was still with us and I have dedicated my blog in her memory.

My Mom was very creative, sewing, painting, she did it all.
On one of those "I'm bored" days,  my Mom encouraged me to make cards.  She would come into my room and go thru the cards I had so eagerly lined up and she would give me a penny a card - like I had a little card shop in my bedroom. I love those memories and here I am some 50+ years later and what started out as a whim for a bored child, has now turned into a love of all paper crafts and still making cards with love to my Mom.  (Miss you Mom!)
