Hi, There!
What fun I had last night. I found a few tutorials on YouTube about coloring your own seam binding. I happen to love the bows you can get with seam binding especially when you crinkle it up. Has a rather vintage look to it when you are done.
So I took some photos of what I did and you should have seen my hands by the time I was finished!!!! Next time I will wear disposable gloves. But having inky hands is what it is all about for us paper crafters.
This was like coloring Easter eggs so much fun. The frugal crafter YouTube is what I watched beside others if you want to check it out. This isn't new it is old but new to me so I just had to try it out!!!
I plan to adorn some of my spring cards with some of these bright ribbons!!! See ya later and thanks for stopping by, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn
My seam binding drying overnight. You crinkle it up while it is wet and leave it - at least I left it overnight and then this morning I put them in the tins I would be storing them in and dried with my heat gun.
Heat drying to make sure they are all completely dry.
Seam product used - bought on Amazon.
All stored. I used Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays to color these and some had glitter in them - real pretty in the ribbon - but since I sometimes donate my cards, I have to keep the glitter ones separate from the pack so as not to contaminate any of those ribbons for cards! You can just add some shimmer spray if you want some of the others to glitter;) You can use your distress inks too, I just wanted to use some of these sprays since they have been sitting there neglected for some time;)
Beautiful! I have some ribbon like this, but I didn't do it. I really should try it.
ReplyDeleteLove the beautiful rick colours and a great idea as I have loads of ribbon but never seam to have the colour I want -I prefer seam binding too as gives a better bow.
