QKR Digital Images - Sentiment #40403 Butterfly #58901
Well, the next best thing to dreaming about flowers is dreaming about butterflies. So for our Friday Weekly Challenge at QKR Stampede, I just had to color a few and here they are all nestled on my card! Found a great sentiment to complete the card.
Butterflies are special to me. Many years ago, when I was down in Florida with my sister and Mom, we were standing at my Dad's grave when a butterfly came fluttering about just hovering around the three of us!!!! So yes, they are special to me;)
Come join us at QKR Stampede for fun and enter the challenge - always Anything Goes!! Thanks for stopping by, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

QKR Digital Images - Sentiment #40403 Butterfly #58901
Copic Markers: Y13 Y15 Y38 YR07 Fussy cut and applied to card front with 3D foam
The card base is black and the background papers are from my stash. I used a Gold Leaf pen to make a border around the polka dot paper. The sentiment was cut out with a frame die from Sue Wilson/Creative Expressions and I used Distress Oxide Inks for blending around the edges: Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade. Filigree gold corners are also from my stash. I can't believe it but I used no Stardust on this card but I think it stands on its own without the sparkle!
Beautiful butterflies and sentiments and how lovely that it evokes a beautiful memory

This is so beautiful. Love the butterfly story. My Dad and I brought my mother's ashes to Atlantic City. She wanted her ashes dumped in the ocean. It is illegal, by the way. Anyways, we stood on the beach right outside of her favorite casino. I found a shell to scoop the ashes out. The water was very calm, that is until we put her ashes in. All of a sudden a huge wave came out of nowhere and covered us up to almost our knees. We had been crying when we were putting the ashes in...well, that turned to hysterical laughing, because my Dad yelled "d**n you Grace, yon did that on purpose." We had to walk back through the casino in wet pants and shoes. My Dad and I still laugh about that.
