GOD BLESS US - EVERYONE!

Hi, There!

This is my last post for the holiday season and I will be back in January - so Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year  and Peace to all is what I wish for you!!

For my last card and challenge entries of 2015 -

I love the new paper by Graphic 45 - A Christmas Carol!!  I love that movie - with Alastair Sim!! Not the colorized one either - the old time black and white movie!!  Grew up with all these movies.  I have some of these movies in a special Christmas box so my next movie to watch would be The Bishop's Wife - Loretta Young, David Nevin, Cary Grant!!!

Anywhos - I used some of the elements in the DP pack for the window area and the background I created with distress inks and a brick stencil from Tim Holtz.  The window is an Impression Obsession die cut and the sentiment is from Graphic 45 A Christmas Carol.  Some rhinestones from Recollections. Thanks for stopping by and, if you wish, I have posted another card made with the same elements for you to take a peek at except that sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo - thanks so much for being with me for 2015.  Looking so forward to some new beginnings in 2016 for me!!  Till next time,  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

PRINCESS OF SNOWFLAKES

Hi, There!

I hope you are well and enjoying some sunshine where you live.  We had plenty of sunshine today and it was very mild for a December Day!  But soon we may be experiencing some of these pretty snowflakes that this princess has surrounding her!  I used some of Tracy's papers again and I love the colors.  I used the following Copics to color her up:

Hair R0000 R000 R00 R01 R02

PEACE TO YOU

Hi, There!

Something we seem to need a little more of these days is Peace!  So that is my wish to you - Peace of mind, heart and soul.  I wish a blanket of peace could cover the world and keep us all safe.

For my card I used a stamp from Inkadinkadoo.  I stamped it in black and used stardust for the stars. Background is done with distressed inks.   Snowflake punch from Martha Stewart - I had trouble using the beautiful paper for these snowflakes but the color complimented the distress inks so well and the paper is a freebie from Tracy Wray .  Used rhinestones from Recollections for center of snowflakes.  I have another card in the works using more of Tracy's beautiful papers along with an image from Artbymiran for next post.  Thanks for stopping by, till next time, Peace and Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

PEACE - SPIRALS from Crafts and Me

Hi, There!

I hope those of you that do celebrate Thanksgiving - had a wonderful day.  We did here with all our family together (almost all together - we have one living out in Minnesota and one living down in Florida)  Someday we may all be together for a Thanksgiving or Christmas celebration.

Well enough of that - here is another Christmas card I managed to get done.  I am very slow starting this year!  But I am having fun and that is the most important part of creating cards.

I love these images by Jeremiah-Ketner - this one is called Spirals.  I am thinking I would try her again but in a different monochromatic color!  Back to the drawing board;)
Stay well, until next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

It's Your Birthday!!!

Hi, There!

I made a card for a special person that will celebrate her birthday today.  I already sent her this card so no worries that she will see it before she receives it!  This was another fun card to make and I used a panel of watercolor paper and distress inks.  I used two stencils from Tom Holtz layering collection on top of the distress inks.  Sentiment is a freebie that came with my CardMaking Magazine from the UK.  Some sequins here and there.  Graphic 45 background paper and ribbon from my stash.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by - Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

Hi, There!

Got to play with my distress inks again and after the background dried (I found out very quickly if you do not completely dry your background your embossing powder sticks everywhere!:(  I stamped this great Inkadinkado pumkin stamp and text.  So this was a second time around for this card.  Thanks for taking a peek, hope you find time to play - Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

SKULLS AND SPELLS

Hi, There!

I have discovered my Distress Inks - had them for so long and never really did much with them.  Started watching some Tim Holt's videos and now I am hooked and wish I had more time to just play!  So here is my first card using a Hampton Art stamp. Stamped it in Brushed Pewter Distress Paint and once dry went over with distress inks and a spot of textured paste in the corner. (Not to be too ghoulish, it is suppose to be blood!!)  Fun stuff!
Papers used for background are from Graphic 45 and some mirror paper on the end.  Corner spider webs from Recollections. I have more to post but maybe tomorrow.  Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by - Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

I PUT A SPELL ON YOU!!!

Hi, There!

I just received a new birthday present - Brushos!!!!  I have the day off so guess what I did - played with my Brushos!  These are amazing and I first noticed these awesome backgrounds on other cards and just had to do some research.  And of course, it was "I Just Have To Have That"!! impluse!!!  I got the 12 color sample and the product is made in the UK.  They are crystal powders - very rich pigment - and just a sprinkle does it on wet watercolor paper - POW!!!  It never looks the same twice - unpredictable and just awesome and so much fun to play with.  Possibilities are endless!!  I put a couple of my first time samples at bottom of this post.

Image I used is from East Wind called Lucy Loo Spellbound.  I love all the Lucy Loo images so this was a no brainer for me.  I colored her up with my Copic markers!!  So much fun making this card.  Thanks for stopping by, have a great evening and I hope you get to play some too!!!  Soooo good for the soul:)  Hugs ~  CaroleAnn

Hi, There! - QKR WINNER !!!  Thanks so much

Like my earlier post of today mentioned I am really in a very autumn creative mode so here is a card that I made from an image over at QKRStampede - so cute - called Scarecrow and Leaves.  He really reminds me of the times my kids would help with the raking of the leaves and then everyone jumped into all the piles!!!  Guess we didn't worry about ticks etc. back then;) - just had fun!

I used a sketch from My Favorite Things to jump start the style of my card.  I turned the sketch around and kind of got loss so I hope it is still acceptable!!  So here it is for the following challenges:

It is a little early for harvest time but we are getting there.  The trees are changing colors here ever so slightly, pumkins are beginning to make their appearance on front steps of homes and there are plenty of great apples for the pickings!  So I just had to use this image from Saturated Canary/Harvest Girl.  This is my fave time of year - autumn so I think a lot of my cards will be caught up in all the glorious colors of fall!  This is also going out to my blog friend, Vicki - Happy Birthday to You!!  Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great week.

LOVE BOOKS!!

Hi, There!

I hope you enjoyed your summer and in families that have school or college age kids - all have settled into a routine.  We have here.  My daughter has to be in work by 7 am so I am getting the kids off to school and so far they have all been getting downstairs on time!!  There is no driving to school here as I have to be out to work after they climb those bus steps!

Now about my card - it is all about books for me - well sometimes, when I am not catching up on TV shows with my Kindle.  But reading does relax me more and I do enjoy a good book.  So this card is dedicated to all our librarians and libraries and all the wonderful worlds they open up to us!

I would like to enter this card for the following challenge:
613 Avenue Create Challenge #141 - Anything Goes/Love Me Do

I folded the front of the card back and decorated with the papers, used a die cut frame for the image.  Fussy cut the cup and popped out with foam.  Used some glitter here and there and put a little Glossy Accents on her eye glasses - which BTW I love!!  I decorated the inside with some little books that I made up from Kraft paper and white copy paper.

Accents Added:
pearls, wooden "love" word, chipboard tag from Graphics 45 Bohemian which I applied the little paper letters on and those are from BoBunny/Vicki B.  Tied a string to the tag.

Papers have been distressed and shaded with Distress Inks.  I have a small place inside of the card to write my sentiment to my fave library!!

GOOD-BYE SUMMER!

Hi, There!

I do not like saying good-bye to summer but that is what makes everything so special - when you do not have it all the time!!  So here is my "good-bye" card for my last summer memory.  I remember how special collecting shells use to be when I was a kid and then reliving it thru my kids and my grandchildren.  Special moments for all and I hope you had a good summer and now on to the beauitful season of Fall - even though we all know what comes after Fall - each Season has its own beauty to appreciate!!  thanks for stopping by and till next time - Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

SUMMER MOMENTS TO REMEMBER

Hi, There!

A little break from our Grandson's basketball tournaments and a little time to create a card.  We all have summer time moments to remember but I think this young lady has some awesome moments to recall!  - Carefree summers at the beach with friends and being treated to a delicious ice cream cone to cool off!!

I used papers from Simply Stories/Good Day Sunshine, paper doily and paper flowers from Recollections.  The image from Delicious Doodles has been colored with Copic Markers and Spectrum colored pencils for shading. Some Stardust on her flowers, beads, and her cone.  Put two brads in the center of her hair flowers and cut the image out with a Spellbinders oval die cut.  Applied some washi tape in the left hand corner and cut out some icons from the paper to make little note cards and used a few pink rhinestones here and there. Glossy Accent on her sunglasses.

Hope you all enjoy your last days of summer and have some wonderful moments to remember.  I hope to get to one more "summer time" card before I switch to creating back to school and fall-type cards.  Thanks for stopping by, till next time we meet ~ Hugs, CaroleAnn

CRAFTY FRIENDS CHALLENGE #9

Hi, There!

So glad to have found this challenge site on PaperPlayful.  Love the creativity I saw on the page and the warmth that the site generates! Glad to see you are back and wishing you all good luck!!

I was drawn to this image from Make It Crafty called April because when I was a little girl all I ever colored were ladies with big eyes, big hair and big lips!  I loved shading all the eyes and putting on the makeup for the cheek blush!  So here I am many decades later still loving to color the big eyed ladies.  There are so many to choose from - check it out if you like that kind of coloring.  Nothing better than to be a child again and lost in the wonderful world of coloring!!  Hope you are doing something today that will give you a smile or two!  Till next time, Big Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

YOUR DAY TO SHINE

Hi, There!

Wow it has been so long for me.  I have had a very bad case of arthritis which made my crafting time a little less enjoyable.  But I am hoping now that I have turned a corner, I can create a little bit more.  Still doing a lot of traveling for the basketball tournaments too with our grandson so that is still eating up a lot of time.  But here is one card I managed to make and I love these new images over at Crafts & Me!!  So here we go - so good to be back and I have been checking everyone's posts even though not leaving a message.  Such inspiration out there - I look forward to the day I can just play all day and not work and try to squeeze in time for what I really want to do - such is life right?  LOL

Thanks for being there and till next time, Big Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

FLOWERS OF THE DEEP

Hi, There!

Hope you are all well.  Not much time for me to be blogging or creating as I would like but I did manage to find time to color up this mermaid image from Aurora Wings and I love mermaids!  Now I need another fix so I am going to search thru my flash drive for more mermaids waiting to be brought to life!  I love how she lays in the deep with her treasures and she seems to caress this skull very possessively and I love that about this image.  Love the expression on her face.  And I may be stretching the Aurora Wings Challenge for Flowers but I believe she has flowers from the sea draping over her shoulders and I am interpeting the starfish as the flowers of the deep!  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek, enjoy the rest of your week.  Till next time, hugs ~ CaroleAnn

SPRING WISHES FOR YOU

Hi, There!

I think it might be safe enough for me to post a card wishing everyone "happy spring"!  I am seeing some crocus pop up and the start of some daffodils in warmer climate south of me.  So, yes it is on its way.  So here is my card - it was very hard to pick a spring type image to color.  I have so many lovely images and I wish I could be home all day coloring but, alas, it is not the case:(  But then, how could I afford to buy my stamps or digital images!!! Catch-22!!  This image is called Anastasia from Make It Crafty!!  So much fun to color if you like big eyes and big hair!!!  LOL  Until next time, take care, and thanks for stopping by and I wish for you lots of spring like weather!!

I have not found the time to visit all the lovely blogs and leave comments here and there.  We are deep into basketball tournaments and my husband and I travel with my grandson to all his games.  So when we do not have practice runs, we have games!!  Last year we got to go to New Orleans!!!  All very exciting.  But I have to tell you, we are getting too old for bleachers so we got ourselves some nice stadium seats so I hope our backs will be thanking us soon!   Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

SAY CHEESE

Hi, There!
Well, I am back with another HB card.  This image from the stamp set at BuddlyCrafts is so cute - she was fun to color up.  I used Copic and Spectrum Noir markers, and the DP is from Simple Stories/Say Cheese.  Happy Birthday cake die cut is from my friend, Sherri;)  The little bingo cards I cut out from the DP and used foam dots for 3D look. Thanks for stopping by - it is almost the weekend and I am getting ready to do a "happy dance"!!!!  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

YOU MAKE MY HEART SMILE

Hi, There!

The other day someone very dear to me told me they feel like all their internal butterflies left them.  That made me feel sad so I wanted to make this card for that special person and let her know I'm sending these butterflies to her with lots of love.  And to remind her that she has some awesome, beautiful, internal butterflies that everyone around her can experience because she is so special!!!  Believe!!
Thanks for visiting with me and may you always be aware of your "internal butterflies"!!!  Big Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

LuLu's Morning Fix

Hi, There!

This is one of Stamping Bella's rubber stamp images and I had it for a while before I got to design it into a card.  This stamp comes with an awesome sentiment so I am sending this to my sister.  (I did upload a picture of the saying that is inside the card. ) I almost didn't get this posted in time as I had to tear myself away from the TV - Wednesday is my fave night, American Idol, Empire and Nashville!!! I love Wednesday nights or if I am busy then I catch everything on my Kindle for Thursday night - except then that is How to Get Away with Murder night!!! LOL  Thanks for stopping by, have a good day, till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

LEO THE LION

UPDATE - This card won Top 5 at QKR Stampede  - thank you!!

Hi, There!

We are celebrating my youngest grandson's big five in two weeks so I made this card for him.  I found this lion on QKR website and fell in love with it and I got the sentiment to go with him and that is inside my card.  Their challenge for this week is "Critters" so I think this lion is perfect for my theme of critters!  I don't think there is anything fierce about him - rather lovable and I love his mane!

GEOMETRICAL WISHES

Hi, There!

This was a fun card to create and I was a little out of my element on this but I had fun experimenting with my Versa Mark ink pad and an old stamp set from Stampin Up dated 2000 (the same one Vicki used in her demo)!

I used the Versa Mark for the white circles and clear embossed them.  And then went over the circles with Memento Rose Bud Dew Drop (also very old but still had ink).  Wiped off the excess paint to reveal the circles that resisted the ink.  And then applied the generation stamping with the same shape circle with the Rose Bud ink.

Stamped the "flower splash" and the "make a wish" sentiment in Dew Drop Rhubarb Ink.  Now this stamp set is old and I have no idea where it is from so sorry I can't give credit to the stamp company.

I put the card on at a slant so as to make triangles appear in the corners!  LOL!   Till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

YOU'RE CHERRY SWEET/HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO YOU!

Hi, There!

Hope you are enjoying Valentine's Day in your own special way.  I plan to have some chocolate before the day is over;)  I treated the family to a box full of heart shaped donuts and that was a big hit!

And for dinner I made two trays of lasagna for a cold, snowy, night!! Yummy!  So believe it or not, I still found time to design a card!

This adorable digital image is from Cuddly Buddly - "A Cherry On Top".    I used my Copic Markers and some glossy accents on the cherry and lots of glossy accents on the icing and sprinkled some "Christmas Frosting" that I found in my stash - wanted to make it seem like sprinkles on top;)

The die cut heart frame is perfect and that was given to me from my friend, Sherri.  It is a Cheery Lynn Heart Frame die which you can find at DiesRUs.  I added some crystal hearts from my stash inside the heart cutouts.  More old stash finds are - pink gingham ribbon,  sentiment is a rubber stamp from Darcie's and another rubber stamp I used on this card is from Stampin Up from 1995 - little cherries stamped randomly on the background pink paper and that paper is from Simon Says Stamp kit.   Fun going thru all your old stuff!! Thanks so much for stopping by - hope you have a sweet ending to your day!  Till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn
