HEARTFELT THANKS

Hi, There!

My last distress oxide ink background.  I once again used a SU stamp and my hummingbird sticker from my stash.  You can stamp with these Oxide ink stamps very nicely too - it holds a good image as you can see on the "Thanks" part of my card.  Always need thank you cards and I never have enough made!  Till next time, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

YOU ARE A TRUE FRIEND - AND MY SISTER!!

Hi, There!

This is a special shout out to my sister, Gina!!!  It is her birthday today.  I made a special card for her that she has already received but just wanted to have something on my blog for her.

My sister has always been my buddy - I thank the Lord for giving me such a special person in my life that I can call a sister and a "true friend"!!!  Enjoy your day, Gina.  Much love coming your way today!

Big hugs and bigger blessings to you!!

Card Recipe:
Watercolor background; black archival ink for the Inkadinkadoo image and sentiment.  Sequin here and there.  Mounted onto a black cardstock and then to a kraft card.  I used painters tape around my watercolor paper to get the clean white border for the image.

THINKING OF YOU

Hi, There!

This is one of those fast cards made from die cuts and stickers - only stamping was from the sentiment.  There is a challenge out there that asks for no stamps or digi images.   UnstampaBelles. Good inspiration to make those fast cards using stickers and your paper crafting!!  Since I have quite a few boxes of stickers etc. this would be a good way to encourage me to go and try to use some of them.  Wanted to load this up for their challenge #67  but last minute I read - No Stamped Sentiments - so I am out of this one.  Still fun to check out a new challenge blog!  But I am still good for Simon Says Challenge for Wednesday!!

Thanks for taking a peek, till next post, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!!

Hi, There!

Still on the watercolor theme here:) This has a background made with the new Distress Oxide Inks - love the chalk-like finish once these dry!  Sentiment is from my stash and the flowers in the foreground are from an old Stampin Up rubber stamp set.  Hummingbird sticker is from stash.  Mounted the watercolor paper to a black cardstock and then onto a pink cardstock.  Sequins here and there.

DARE TO DREAM

Hi, There!

We have so much rain going on here.  Damp and cold - I need some sun for my bones!!!!  LOL  I know, April Showers bring May Flowers.  I think after a few posts, I need to color something bright!

I have been playing a lot with my watercolors and brushos so the next few posts will have that as backgrounds.  Here is a card I made using Lavina Stamp (fairy on the tree) stamped with Archival Black Ink on a Brusho background.  Sparkle in her wings and she has a few winged friends visiting her too - those are from my stash.  Added a sequin or two.  Kept it simple.  I need a few just simple cards for quick mail outs.

Thanks for stopping by, see you next post, hope you have some sun shining where you are!!!  Hugs and Blessings ~ CaroleAnn

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL WITH FLOWERS IN IT!

Hi, There!

I just happened to be working on this mixed media background piece and once I saw these challenges new where I was going with this background!!!  Sometimes I just sit and stare at a background and wonder where it is going.  Well, I made this one fit all of the following themes.  Three for challenges over at Simon Says Stamps; a challenge over at Altenew for April and a challenge at Mixed Media World for April!!

How's that for one creation for five challenges!!  Don't you love when all your time and effort works out that way.  Only - I placed my sentiment too close to my leaf at the last touch, but oh, well, I decided too much work went into the rest of the project to just toss it!

Hope you like it - flowers always make me smile.  Smiles to you and till next time, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

Mixed media layout shared at:

Mixed Media World #24 - ATG with twist - watercolor (my flowers and leaves)

Mixed Media:
Background covered with heavy gesso and then sprayed with Lindy's flat fabio - Mango Mania, Luminous Lemon, Starburst - Sea Mint Green and Glory of the Seas Gold

Stamped text is from Finnabair and stamped with brown Archival Ink.  Image of hives stamped with same.

Bees stamped in black Archival Ink and also stamped and fussy cut and painted with Copic markers and glued to background.

Heavy gesso used for honeycomb stencil from  Faber-Castell and the beehive image is stamped over it.

Bees and honeycomb from Flourishes/Be My Honey - Artist Marcella Hawley.

Daises, leaves and sentiment from Altenew/Spring Daisy Set.  I used watercolors to paint the flowers and leaves and Spectrum Noir pencils to shade them.

Wink of Stella in centers, white gel pen for hi-lites; liquid pearls and sequins and stardust for glitter on the wings of the bees.

THE BIRDS

Hi, There!

I think these birds may be meeting for the first time and not too sure of their footing with each other!!  LOL!!  Ever have that moment with meeting new people?  I always felt just be yourself and everything turns out okay.  Now these Tim Holtz's birds are indeed different and I just love their goofiness! I just smile looking at them.  Hope they give you a smile or chuckle and you have a great week, and make new friends along the way!  Till next time, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn
