Hi, There!

I think Lucy Loo says it all - I have so many of these images (still want more) and I can never make up my mind which one to use.  But as soon as I saw the Challenge over at East Wind - this just fit the bill!!!  You know how much I like to color hair, lips and eyes - except I decided to leave those alone for this challenge.  Thanks for visiting, and till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

The background was stamped with cupcakes and "iced" with different color stickles.  I also stamped and embossed some hearts with gold embossing powder in the background.  Added a doily and to the left a strip of magic card from Heidi Swapp and this was sprayed with Dylusions Inks.  A number 3 was stamped on the bottom cupcake and mounted with two foam dots.  Distressed with ink the sentiments and the base card.  Some glossy accents on his eyes.

ESCAPE REALITY

Hi, There!

I would imagine at sometime or another, we have wished to be able to do this.  I personally find this escape in the nature and colors that surround me.  I am fortunate to work not far from a State Park and I can go there to "escape".
So I tried to make a card that would portray the escape!  Hope you like it. Till next time, thanks for stopping by and I hope you find time to "escape" whether it is in an actual place or just in your dreams!  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

Challenges:
Crafting When We Can Challenge #110 - Something New - Mine is a new butterfly stamp and die
Stamping Sensations Challenge  - Anything Goes with die/s

Card Recipe:

Watercolor paper

Image is a rubber stamp and so is the sentiment "Escape Reality" - unfortunately I found these stamps at the bottom of my fairy collection box and I do not know where I bought them - sorry.

Both stamps were stamped with Archival Black Ink - colored the image with distress inks and colored pencils.  Painted the wings with Radiant Pearls and stardust.

The watercolor background I made using the following:
Distress Inks - Shabby Shutters, Hickory Smoke, Tumbled Glass
Distress Pewter Paint on the background for some shine
Distress Inks used on various stencils in background, small butterfly stamps at random
Liquid Pearls and stardust

Card base is a Heidi Swapp Magic Card spritzed with Color Shine - Patina, Ocean.

Sparkle ribbon with a charm tied on, a pearl heart, sparkle cutout star, and a silver filigree corner.
Distressed the whole finished product before mounting onto the Magic Card.

Butterfly Stamp and Die are new from Sizzix/Tim Holtz Alterations.  Painted the butterfly dies with Radiant Pearls - Fandango Green, Capian Sea.

Just said no to housework and cleaning up after the Christmas celebrations here and spent a lot of time in my craft room.  Till next time, thanks for stopping by and sharing a fave beverage with me. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND MAKE A WISH!

Hi, There!

A new year and I am so excited!  Looking forward to see all you create.

I have invested in some new stamps (almost all fairies) from Lavinia and this is my first creation.   Also, spent a lot of my holiday time watching videos on mixed media works of art and I am hooked on all the different mediums, from embossing pastes, textures, gelli plates,  to all the different distress inks, Dylusion inks, Color Shine mists, etc.  So I am getting my feet wet, but slowly.  I want to try working in my journal, on some canvas, watercolor paper etc. but for now I only had time for this card.  Hope you have some wonderful new ideas coming at you too.  Thanks for taking a peek and I hope 2016 turns out to be one of the most creative for all of us!  Till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

Challenge:

613 Avenue Create/Anything Goes  Challenge # 156

Card Recipe
Used regular white cardstock and made the back ground with Brusho color crystals - Leaf Green, Turquoise, Yellow.  Painted the yellow background with some Luminarte pearls - Sour lemon and that gave the yellow a nice shine.  Made the ground with distress inks and sponged distress inks around the edges.  Stamped the images from  Lavinia "Make A Wish" and stamped twice with the Fairy Dandelions in MomentoLuxe Tuxedo Black.  Black colored pencil used to make shadow under their feet to ground them.  Used Versafine ink in colors Deep Lagoon and Imperial Purple for the Fairy Buttercups.  Colored the fairy wings with Radiant Pearls - Royal Orchid, Sourlemon and Candy Apple.  Used Liquid Pearls on the dandelions and sprinkled glitter over that.  Used some stardust on the wings. Text is from Hero Arts - Acts of Kindness and clear embossed.  Mounted onto the front of a white square card.  Fun!  Fun!
