MIXED MEDIA BUTTERFLY

Hi, There!

I love butterflies so this was an easy card for me to create.  The image is from Tim Holtz.  To color it up, I went back to my watercolor pencils/Koh i noor, which I have not used in a long time - Yellow, Red, Purple, Gold.  Then I went in with  one Copic marker - Y15.  Next I used some Acrylic Silks - Persimmon, Wine & Roses, and Golden Monarch - this is my first time using these and they give such a beautiful shine - can't see it in the photo but it is very shimmery!  Background is Brusho Watercolor Crystals.  Used a clear stamp from my stash "Thinking Of You" and sequins. Striped background is from my stash.

Challenges I would like to enter this card:
Crafting With Friends Challenge #15 - Anything Goes
Creative Artiste Challenge #11 - Mixed Media

2nd Card
Just had to make one more card - for fun and use my Radiant Pearls that I just found hidden - you know how that goes;)

Same image but now I am using my "old" Radiant Pearls - Caspian Sea, Sour Lemon, and Candy Apple - talk  about shine!!  This whole butterfly is just radiant glows of color!

The background again I used my Brusho Water Color Crystals.  Added some sequins.  Wanted to keep both these cards CAS!  Thanks for stopping by, till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

VOICE OF THE SEA

Hi, There!

Once I discovered "More Than Words" challenge, which for this month is the word "Wonderful",  for me it just had to be either a Fairy layout or Mermaid layout. They are all wonderful inspirations for me and the more I see them used in layouts and/or cards, the more I want to create something of my own!!

So here is my Mermaid Mixed Media Canvas.  The digital image is from Aurora Wings - she is just so beautiful - colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  The background on the canvas was painted with distress paints, I used some "Fish" tissue paper here and there; Music Note washi tape; Gesso on a bubbles stencil; fish images cut from K&Company/Travel paper, the two sentiment stamps are from Crafty Secrets which I stamped in black ink. I fussy cut the words; added some clear glass bubbles and lots of liquid pearls. Sea shells, coins, and metals from my stash at the bottom, touched up here and there with Silk acrylic paint for some glimmer.

This is my first mixed media on canvas and although it took me longer to finish - very different than card making as I had to wait for different elements to dry - I did have fun!!!  Thanks for stopping by, till next time, Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

Challenges I would like to enter:
The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #21 Glitter - which I added thru Wink of Stella and stardust (This is my second entry for this challenge.)

SOMETHING "OLD" THAT FEELS LIKE "NEW"!

Hi, There!

Well, you all know my cards are very shishi-foofoo  - so o o o - when I have to make a male oriented card (as my daughter asked me to make) I am very much out of my element.

It forced me to look into boxes that have been neglected for a long time and I have the dust to prove it!!! LOL  A whole new world opened up to me as I felt like I just found a bunch of new stamps!!  The wooden handle on the stamp read "Stampscapes/Meadow" and it is from 1993!!!  Can you believe it!!!!  And better yet - I had never used it!!! LOL!!!!

Now that I am into distress inks everything I have takes on a new look!  Here is my card, and thank you so much for spending some time with me, take care, and I hope you can find something "old" that feels like "new" - wish I could say that about some of my body parts!!!  LOL  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn:)

FAIRY HAPPINESS

Hi, There!
I am trying something new - for me - a mixed media card - well more like a page for my journal.  I love fairies and just thought maybe I would start making random pages and put them into a journal just for everything in Fairyland!  Since I have so many fairy stamps etc., it will be a rather big project that I will have to start once I retire;)  But here is my first attempt, and I got the inspiration for this from Eileen Godwin's you tube post on her master board - just lovely - thanks Eileen!!!  Till next time, thanks for stopping by,  Hugs ~ CaroleAnn

I would like to enter the following challenges:
The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #21 "glitter (so glad I found this blog - great inspiration here)

Allsorts Challenge Blog Week 348 - Bring on the Bling (great inspiration here too!!!)

Card Recipe:
Flower background was put in by using a Tim Holtz stencil with gesso. Distress inks and paints - Seedless Preserves, Fozzilized Amber, Picked Raspberry, and Broken China rubbed over the dried gesso.  Removed some color with a baby wipe on flower centers.  Sprinkled some water over the whole image.  Stamped random stars and spots with black ink.  Stamped the fairies and fairy orbs from Lavinia Stamps.  Used a white paint pen to accent some flowers and orbs.  The orbs are filled in with Glossy Accent, Black Soot distress ink around the edges of the orbs and the edges of the page.  Lots of liquid pearls and star dust!  Wood text is covered with black paint and then covered with Glossy Accent.  Had lots of fun with this!!:)
