RIBBON AND LACE

Hi, There!

I was too late to enter this into one challenge at Ching-Chou Kuik's website but wanted to post it.  I believe I am in time for other challenges.  I was behind the eight ball all the way for my challenge entries this month!!!!  I am not sure how the time passes me by when I always think I am on time!!! LOL  But I am having fun during the process and that is what it is all about.  Have a great evening or day!  Till next time hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

NOTE:  Heavy post with photos

I love fairies, butterflies, and mermaids.  Mermaids won!!  I have a few digital mermaids from Aurora Wings - I love them all and I still have a few more that are crying for attention!!!

I decided that Aurora Wings' challenge for a secret garden would be one that is under the sea!!!  I am sure there are some beautiful creatures and or critters roaming the bottom of our wonderful seas!

This is what I imagine as only a little part of "my secret garden" under the sea;)  Thanks for stopping by, till next time, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

FLIGHT OF FANCY

Hi, There!

I can't believe how fast time goes by - I didn't even know that this weekend is Memorial Day weekend here in the USA!!!  I thought once I retired maybe time would slow up but it seems like it has sped up for me - don't know why.  I have to work faster on my projects to make deadlines lately!

I have had this image from East Wind for quite some time and only getting to color her now.  It was a lot of fun and when I found the "just right paper" it all came together!  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your week - before it is next week;)  Hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

A QUIET MOMENT FOR ALL THE MOTHERS OUT THERE!!

Hi, There!

I had a quiet moment this morning before my grandchildren clamored downstairs to make breakfast and get ready for work.  My quiet moments here can be few and far between but I would not change a thing about my busy household!!  So onto my "quiet moment" post.

This background I created with the new Distress Oxide Inks and sprayed with water once I liked the shading.  You get these awesome variations in the shading once it is dry!!  I only have a few of these inks but having fun with the few I have!  I used painters tape for masking a frame and the sentiment is from Verve.  Added some sequins and those awesome stickers - now I think those are from a Tim Coffey collection but not sure.

I hope to get back into my craft room today to create a few more "quick" cards from all my sticker stash!!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend, with a quiet moment to yourself to do what ever pleases you the most!!!  Special wishes to all the wonderful Mothers out there that are celebrating Mothers Day here in the USA and a belated Happy Mothers Day to all our UK mums!!!  Hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

BUTTERFLIES AND FLOWERS

Hi, There!

I have all these stickers in a box and decided to try to use some of them to make a few quick cards.  So here is card #1 and I did the background with watercolor first and the sentiment is from Verve.  Added some Wink of Stella and a few sequins.  Frame die cut from IO and then added the stickers from my stash!  I had fun!!!  Don't you love it when you can make something fast, use up some of that stash "stuff" and have fun to boot!!!!  Yah!  Till next time, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

CELEBRATE!!!

Hi, There!

Okay this is a SSS called Birthday Celebration and this little elephant tried so hard to hold on to all his balloons but managed only one - the hint of pink balloon.  All balloons have glossy accents on them and I dyed some string to black with distress inks.  Then glued the string to the back of all balloons.

The  image is colored in Copic Markers.  Sentiment is also from the stamp set.  Scallop die cut from Spellbinders and the corners are from my stash.

For background, I used paper from Simple Stories/Good Day Sunshine and cut out part of it on top and used it inside of the card.  Hope this weekend finds you celebrating something fun!!!!  Thanks for stopping by, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

BEACH GAZING

Hi, There!

I made this watercolor background scene and have been trying to figure out how to complete the scene with some stamps.  Then it all clicked when I read the challenge title over at SSS -  "The Great Outdoors"!

4 different rubber stamps were used - all from Stampin Up (some very old stamps I dug out).
By masking the different wooden rubber stamps, I was able to get the birds both in the foreground and background. Two more stamps, masked, for the little bit of vegetation and tiny butterflies in the right hand corner.   I added some glitter to the gentle waves that I painted.

I have fallen in love with watercoloring and hope to experiment more with this media.  Hope this photo makes you think of soft breezes, the gentle sounds of the waves and the happy chirping of the birds flying overhead!!!

Thanks for stopping by, till next time, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

BIG SISTER HUGS

Hi, There!

It is amazing when you go thru your stash and find something you did not even remember that you had!!!!  Love it!!  This is from Holly Pond Hill, Joanna Sheen Decoupage Sheets and it is dated 2013.  So I had fun putting this together for my sister as she loves these cute critters.  I haven't done decoupage in some time so I found out I was a little rusty but still had fun and I know she will love these cute mice all decked out in their frocks!!!  Thanks for stopping by, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

PS   So much fun making this I will have to make more as there are a number of sheets to look thru - like finding a surprise gift in my craft room!!!!  LOL

MAY DAY

Hi, There!

Happy May Day to you.  Well, I have to watch every year my most fave movie named Maytime at this time of year and I have to have a box of tissues close by because the music starts and I start bawling!!!!  Love it!!!  Maytime is a 1937 American musical romantic drama and it stars Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy and John Barrymore!!  My mom introduced me to this movie and I have loved it from the get go!!!

Well, on to my May card which is a digital image from Polkadoodles called Tulip Darling Bud.  A fun image for me to color and added some glitter here and there along with a doily and the sentiment is a fabric sticker.  A secret message is on the removable tag peeking out of the side of the image.  All done!!   Never have enough birthday cards.  Till next time, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn
