SWEET FRIENDSHIPS

Hi, There!

Me again with another Penny Black card.  Used another sentiment from the Penny Black sentiment called Faith.  I have renewed my love for my Penny Black stamps and some new ones to boot too!  So I am having fun rediscovering - really I am slowly reorganizing and de-stashing my supplies and finding what I forgot I had and doing a lot of donating - which always makes you feel good!!

This is a small card and I used the Crafty Secrets stamp called Poppies and painted it with watercolors with the Clean Color Brush pens.  Mounted to a black card stock and then to a white card base.  Thanks again for visiting with me, hope you have some very special friendships as they do refresh your soul and put a smile in your heart;)  Till next time, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS MORE OF.....

Hi, There!

Just finished this card and had to load it up.  Plenty of inspiration over at Penny Black, Inc. site and this is one of the ideas I saw and was so excited to try it out.

I used Distress Inks directly to my stamp and then used a water brush to pull the color out on my card stock.  The edge for my card is the masking I did to get the edged frame in place around part of my flower and I used Distress Ink (Brushed Corduroy) to complete this look.  Some sequins here and there and Wink of Stella only in the edged frame.  Thank you so much for visiting me, have a great night/or day - hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

Sentiment is a Penny Black Stamp - Faith

Image was painted on a watercolor paper - cold press, 140 lb weight.  Attached black card stock to one side of a white 5 x 7 base card and mounted the image with foam tape.  This is a beautiful stamp.

I used the We R Memory Keeper's Precision Press Stamping Tool ( like a Misti but cheaper in cost) so I could keep adding the distress inks from light to dark to get the shading I needed without ever moving my card stock from the tool and just kept re-inking as I needed.

HINT:  I was almost going to give up on this tool, and was thinking of getting the Misti but found the solution to my problem.  My paper would never stay in place for the re-inking and it moves more with the thick watercolor paper.

So - If you find your card stock moves when you stamp and need to re-stamp -  an idea - I found in Walmart some magnet adhesive sheets and I adhered one of these on the back of this tool so now nothing moves when I apply my magnets on top of my card stock as I am re-stamping.  Doing a happy dance to solve a problem and save some $$$ - to buy something else!!!!;)

PLEASANT WORDS ARE LIKE........

Hi, There!

Just finished this art journal page and wanted to post it.  Lots if mixed media going on here.
The stamp set is old from Flourishes called Sunflowers which were colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.

Journal pages - first I covered them with thick white gesso, and then I used my fingers and a babywipe to paint the  background with Dylusion paints.  These paints in a jar are so creamy!!!

Took a Faber-Castell paper stencil of honeycombs and used Distress Ink to dab that on the pages. Continued by hi-lighting that with some Radient Pearls - Sour Lemon and used a Pitt pen - brown to outline the honeycombs.

Added Stardust on center of flowers and some on the bee wings; added text from the set stamped here and there.  I did free hand (first attempt at that) the Proverb - not too crazy about that but it is "my" journal!  LOL

Spatters here and there from Dylusions - white and black, and Lindy's Stamp Gang - Gold shimmer.  I drew a frame around both pages and colored it in with Pitt pen orange.

Well, thats it for today - thanks for stopping by, hope you hear nothing but pleasant words all day long!!!  Hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

UNDER THE SEA

Hi, There!  (Update for this card post - DT favorite with Crafting With Friends)

Received the Hero Arts' Month of May kit and have only just got around to making a few cards - not all put together yet but soon.  So you will be seeing lots of "under the sea" theme cards.

Then I have some Penny Black stamps and can't wait to get into those for watercolor fun!!!  So here is my card without further a-do!!!  Thanks for visiting and till the next mermaid scene, sea you back here soon;) LOL  Hugs and blessing ~ CaroleAnn

Background was made with Distress Oxide inks and a stencil of waves that came with the kit. The mermaid, starfish, and clam were colored with Copic Markers and then they were die cut with the set that came with the kit.

Die cut the reef on the side and dipped it into some Distress Oxide ink and the one tucked into the background scene.  Stamped the bubbles, seahorse, and the swimming sea turtle in the background along with some other fish - all from the kit.  Lots of glitter on the mermaid's flippers and the pearl in the clam.  Wink of Stella in her hair.

Card shared at the following challenges:
Crafting From the Heart Challenge #168 - ATG
Crafting With Friends Challenge #47 - ATG
Glitter N Sparkle Challenge #248 - ATG
The Fairy and the Unicorn Challenge #5 - ATG
Simon Says Monday Challenge - "Get In Shape" - can be 3D - my mermaid and clam are mounted on 3D foam

POPPIES AND DRAGONFLY

Hi, There!

Aurora Wings has a challenge that is easy peasy - Anything Goes Challenge #53.  So here is my watercolored card entry.  Another old stamp from Flourishes called Poppies.  Used the Zig Clean watercolor brush set on watercolor paper.  Lots of Wink of Stella on the flower and Stardust on the dragonfly's wings.  Thanks for visiting, till next time, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn

HELLO SUNSHINE

Hi, There!

Almost a month since my last post!!!  Summer fun going on here and less time to create but that is what it is all about during the hot, lazy days of summer:)

Quickie here:  For challenge at Simon Says for both Monday's which is Distress It  - background paper is distressed and for Wednesday's challenge of Use Plaid at Simon Says - that is my background paper.

This is a watercolored card with lots of Wink of Stella and Stardust in center and Glossy Accent for the lady bug.  Used the Zig Clean Color Brushes - I have the 24 brush set and absolutely love it but it works the best on good watercolor paper for blending colors into one another.  The image is from Flourishes called Sunflower - I have had this for years.  I am pulling out more of these clear stamp sets to watercolor as I forgot I had them!!!  I thinks I have too much!!!!  Need to get under control - I'll let you know how that goes after my next and last shipment arrives!:(  LOL

Till next time, hugs and blessings ~ CaroleAnn
